BUSINESS STARTS AGAIN WITH INTELLIGENT MACHINES

Iusintech inaugurates a series of training sessions to support business reprogramming with artificial intelligence

Milan, 11 February 2021 – IUSINTECH, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, University of Pavia, University of Pisa, CNR, Italian Institute of Technology and with the patronage of the Milan Bar Association, opens the year 2021 by launching a cycle of training meetings entitled “The 4 skills of intelligent machines”, focused on the reprogramming of business processes through the use of Artificial Intelligence and related legal aspects, absolutely fundamental in the process of changing organisational and process models.

The event boasts the collaboration of ASLA-Associazione Studi Legali Associati and the media partnership of Partner 24 ORE.

The Italian business and professional market must, in a hurry, take note that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the great transformative technology and will invest infinite aspects of social and business life, revolutionising traditional economic systems and business strategies. Those who learn about the applications of AI and adopt it appropriately will be able to remain competitive and play the game of the future in a market that in Italy is worth around 200 million euros (2.2 billion dollars by 2025 in the USA) according to research published by Osservatori.net.

On the international scene, the United States and China are competing for first place, while Europe, as indicated in a recent report by the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation (ITIF), is still far behind due to the lack of a coherent and convinced push towards business innovation, with insufficient investment to promote new skills and the integration of cutting-edge technologies (for example, only 1.5% of expenditure is dedicated to AI), with worrying prospects for growth and competitiveness.

Intelligent machines have fascinated mankind since time immemorial. Today, we are in the take-off phase and are beginning to become familiar with virtual assistants, robots, and increasingly advanced automated systems, and we can only expect a rapid multiplication of so-called ‘synthetic’ collaborators in the very near future. But what could be the legal impact of such an intimate relationship between humans and machines? And above all, how can companies legally protect themselves when creating, using or implementing AI powered products or services? The skills that Italian companies and professionals lack today will not develop without a work of dissemination and culture on issues of law and ethics applied to technology.

Many questions will be answered by outlining and imagining the next scenarios that will affect the world of production: What are the impacts of automation on business dynamics? How to handle and protect data, which is becoming an increasingly valuable asset for companies?

How to approach human-machine interaction in business life? What has non-human language and creativity achieved? How is intellectual property and patenting law progressing?

In the coming years, robotics and automation, governed by Artificial Intelligence, will play a fundamental role in the transformation process of our societies and in many sectors such as: industry, healthcare, education, logistics and transport, agricultural and food supply chain, justice and others.

“Testing the business model already at the enterprise and business idea stage will be increasingly necessary because powerful technologies in an evolving regulatory framework will drive projects. Learning about emerging technologies is therefore a business need both to exploit their potential and, at the same time, to recognise their risks and limitations,” said Rita Eva, lawyer. – said Rita Eva Cresci, Co-Founder of IUSINTECH, a team of lawyers focused on innovation that conceived and organised the event.

IUSINTECH was born about a year ago, from the intuition of four lawyers focused on the legal aspects of digital transformation, who were joined by as many professionals who are close to cutting-edge technology. An all-female team of lawyers and experts who know how to complement each other and meet the needs of the most innovative companies. The strong interdisciplinary component and the complementary backgrounds allow us to offer a consultancy and assistance service in step with the times, which revolves around transversal collaboration and the interaction of skills, the result of constant updating on the revolutionary developments that progress is making in the current phase of history.
